Backstory

From entrepreneur to influencer

What started as a way to promote a clothing brand a friend and I started, quickly turned into a full-blown career as an influencer.

My first account (later changed to @_jakeshunt), was all about teaching people how to skateboard. I started skating when I was 11, and by the time I made this account I had gotten pretty good at it. I didn’t have a ton of experience making video content at the time, and growing up my favourite types of skateboarding videos on YouTube were tutorials. So, naturally, I tried to replicate this.

Soon enough I was at 100k followers. I started making some money from sponsors, and finally launched that clothing brand I wanted to launch (to not much success, unfortunately).

After about a year and a half of making content, I was already at over 400k followers. I was incredibly proud of myself, but also felt a lot of creative burnout. I needed to start a new venture, and so I did.

Rapid Growth

120k+ followers in 2 months

Around mid 2021, I started getting really into fashion. By October of that year, I decided that I would take on the challenge of making a brand new TikTok account in this space. This decision would change everything for me.

In only 2 months, I had grown the account to over 120k followers. The second video I posted ended up reaching over 11M views, with others reaching similar numbers shortly after.

I stopped posting on my skateboarding account entirely, and went all-in on fashion content.

At its peak, my account had over 430k followers with tens of millions of views. I worked with some of the biggest brands in the industry, signed to a talent agency (Tiddle.io), and learned more about viral content than I ever thought possible.
